Dear Mr. Gonsalves:

This will acknowledge receipt of the above-referenced election protest filed under Article XIV, Section 2 of the Rules for the 1995-1996 IBT International Union Delegate and Officer Election ("Rules"). A "received" – stamped copy of the protest is enclosed.

The protest has been docketed and assigned the number indicated above. We ask that this number be included on all correspondence to the Election Officer.

The protest has been assigned for investigation to Election Officer Representative Christine M. Mrak, whose address and telephone number are indicated at the end of this letter.

Pursuant to the Rules, I am providing a copy of the protest to each person who, or entity which, is a subject of the protest. These persons are listed at the end of this letter.

Because the Rules require that protests be investigated in an expeditious manner, all interested parties, including the person (s) filing the protest, and the individual (s), local union (s), other entity (ies), and candidates who are a subject of the protest, should immediately contact the Election Officer Representative assigned to this case with all information relevant to the allegations contained in the protest. The Representative should be provided with the name, address, and telephone number of all witnesses and persona with information concerning the allegations in the protest. Similarly, all relevant documents should be provided to the assigned Election officer Representative.

All parties are requested to fully cooperate with the Office of the Election Officer in the investigation of this matter. Absent extraordinary circumstances, no party may rely upon evidence not provided by the party to the Office of the Election officer in any appeal of the Election officer's determination regarding the protest.
