Re: Use of Profanity on Company Property
Dear Marty:
On April 24, 1997 at 8:55 a.m. you became agitated and shouted profanity
at me. This incident was witnessed by Robert Alameda. Does a double standard
exist? Gabe Ybarrolaza filed Executive Board charges against Eric Matthews
and Eric was found guilty of using profane language when speaking to a
Business Agent. Additionally, Local 70 threatened to file legal charges
against Eric and then dropped the matter when the NAACP intervened. These
actions were taken during the past year.
Please consider this letter to be a formal demand that you stop swearing
at persons, including myself, at United Parcel Service and begin treating
your Teamster brothers and sisters with respect. Please be advised that
I am referring this matter to Chuck Mack for review by the Executive Board.
Fraternally,
Craig Gonsalves
