Re: Incident on March 27, 1997

Dear Brother Dugar:

Please be advised that your conduct at the meeting held on March 27, 1997 with myself, shop steward Warren Evans and alternate Kim Marchant, along with Gary Medeiros and Kyle Smith from United Parcel Service was out of line, totally unacceptable, and will not be tolerated! Your verbal attack and insult, on your opinion of the job Warren Evans does as a shop steward, in front of management is unexcusable and was an embarrassment to yourself. I do not have a problem with members who disagree with myself or shop stewards, etc. However, I strongly feel that those differences should be discussed and resolved amongst ourselves if possible. If not then respect each other! After I had the Company leave the room, over several of your objections, you stated you understood my point of discussing our differences internally. During the discussion you stated you respected Warren as a man but not as a shop steward. After thinking your statement over, the conclusion I have come to is that you lied to yourself. If you respected Warren as a man you would have said something to him in advance. I lam contemplating taking action against you, but I want to discuss this matter with you prior to making a final decision.

Fraternally,

Marty Frates
